If I could live in a website...

...I'd make my home at http://holdenouterwear.com/ * -  a retail company started by professional snowboarder, Mikey Leblanc. You can see by the style of the site it's incredibly innovative and not your typical retailer site. I recently bought a jacket from these folks and the site has been a great tool in evaluating resources for my Motion Graphics class - looking at sense of place and personality in film.

So, if you could live somewhere on the great world wide web.... where would you be??

* Be sure you have sound on

Tomasz Opasinski - Poster Designer/Real Good at Photoshop Guy

I'm sort of regurgitating this from graphic-exchange.com, but I visited Tomasz's (Polish I believe?) site and was amazed at the size, quality, and high-profileness of his portfolio. My favorite part was under the 'evolution' section where he shows the images he starts with and then the poster he ends up with, very inspiring! Check it out!

Crush + Lovely

Hia, INK! This simple project was put on by a creative group based out of San Francisco –Crush + Lovely– who's motto goes something like this: We celebrate human narratives through digital formats. We create meaningful experiences on the web. We light up ideas that light us up.

Abstract as this may be, I think they're onto something. To offer everyday people a chance to dream and wonder and share their own creativity is a beautiful thing.

Twitter

It’s true. I’m now connected to Twitter. It’s just really unbelievable how life has changed because of social networking. Yes. I admit. It’s awesome. I can’t wait to let everyone know what I’m doing... especially when what I’m doing is completely wickedly cool. Sometimes I even wish that while I was doing something really cool, I could tell everyone about it so that everyone knows I’m up to something fun and my life isn’t boring.

Please be careful. There are some interesting ironies happening inside of this trend. We are more connected to the rest of the world than ever before in the history of civilization. But in the same moment –it’s my assumption– that we are more disconnected with our neighbors. Because communicating is convenient. Notice, convenient. But the most convenient doesn’t mean the most beneficial.

Something to think about.

Take a look at this animation, a really interesting way to show off American Airlines's Next Generation Business Class. (Speakers UP, the sound effects are kind of fun too)
